4D3N PEKANBARU – MINANGKABAU TOUR (1N PEKANBARU, 2N BUKITTINNGGI)

Kelok 9 or Kelok Sembilan is a winding road section located about 30 km east of Payakumbuh City, West Sumatra towards Riau Province. This road stretches for 300 meters in Jorong Ulu Air, Nagari Harau/Kenagarian Ulu Air Preparation, Harau District, Limapuluh Kota Regency, West Sumatra, and is part of the road connecting the Central Sumatra Cross and the East Coast of Sumatra. This road has sharp bends and is about 5 meters wide, borders a ravine, and is flanked by two hills between two nature reserves: the Air Putih Nature Reserve and the Harau Nature Reserve.

Around the road of Kelok 9, a 2.5 km long flyover has been built. This bridge stretches along two steep hill walls with concrete pillars varying in height, reaching 58 meters. Counting, this bridge crosses back and forth over the hill six times. This bridge was inaugurated by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in October 2013 although it has been opened several times to support the Eid homecoming flow and the implementation of the Tour de Singkarak two years ago.

 

DAY 01: AIRPORT – PEKANBARU (L/D)

  • The group arrived at Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport and welcomed by our guide with a Special Songket Scarf.

  • Go to selected restaurants.

  • Afternoon prayer at the AN-NUR MOSQUE.

  • Visit the SANG NILA UTAMA MUSEUM, KRAFTANGAN (LOCAL BATIK).

  • Dinner at a local restaurant.

  • Hotel check-in.

DAY 02: PEKANBARU – KELOK 9 – BUKITTINGGI (B/L/D)

  • Breakfast and check out hotel.

  • To Bukittinggi ± 5 hours drive (via Bangkinang Toll).

  • Stop at KELOK 9 which is the bridge connecting Riau Province and West Sumatra Province.

  • Lunch on the way or to be precise in LUBUAK BANGKU.

  • Continue to HARAU VALLEY which is famous for its 3-tiered waterfall.

  • Arrive in Bukittinggi.

  • Dinner at a local restaurant.

  • Hotel check-in.

 

DAY 03: BUKITTINGGI – MINANGKABAU TOUR (B/L/D)

  • Breakfast at the hotel

  • Bukittinggi City Tour by visiting  SIANOK CANYON, PANORAMA PARK, and JAPANESE TUNNEL (Additional Local Guide) or early morning to Taman Panorama Baru

  • Towards BATUSANGKAR via TABEK PATAH.

  • Next, see and enjoy the process of making smoked bananas and coffee which is still done traditionally at HOME INDUSTRI KINIKO.

  • Lunch at a local restaurant.

  • Towards ISTANO BASA PAGARUYUNG which was the center of the Minangkabau Kingdom in the past.

  • Visit ISTANO SILINDUANG BULAN.

  • Return to Bukittinggi.

  • Stop at UMMI AUFA HAKIM to shop for typical Bukittinggi chips souvenirs

  • Arrive in Bukittinggi, visits PASAR ATAS and JAM GADANG to shop for souvenirs.

  • Dinner at a local restaurant.

  • Return to the hotel to rest.

DAY 04: BUKITTINGGI – AIRPORT (B)

  • Breakfast and check out hotel.

  • Continue to PADANG via PADANG PANJANG.

  • Taste BIKA CAKE at KOTO BARU.

  • Stop at ANAI VALLEY WATERFALL to take photos.

  • Transfer to Minangkabau International Airport.

  • Menuju Bukittinggi ± 5 jam perjalanan (Melalui Tol Bangkinang).

  • Berhenti di KELOK 9 yang merupakan jembatan penghubung antara Provinsi Riau dengan Provinsi Sumatera Barat.

  • Makan siang di perjalanan atau tepatnya di LUBUAK BANGKU.

  • Lanjutkan ke LEMBAH HARAU yang terkenal dengan air terjun 3 tingkatnya.

  • Tiba di Bukittinggi.

  • Makan malam di restoran setempat.

  • Check-in hotel.

 

DAY 03: BUKITTINGGI – MINANGKABAU TOUR (B/L/D)

  • Sarapan pagi di hotel

  • City Tour Bukittinggi dengan mengunjungi TAMAN PANORAMA NGARAI SIANOK dan LOBANG JEPANG (Additional Local Guide) atau awal pagi ke Taman Panorama Baru.

  • Menuju BATUSANGKAR melalui TABEK PATAH.

  • Selanjutnya lihat dan nikmati proses pembuatan Pisang Salai dan Kopi yang masih dilakukan secara tradisional di HOME INDUSTRI KINIKO.

  • Menuju ISTANO BASA PAGARUYUNG yang merupakan Pusat Kerajaan Minangkabau pada masa lalu.

  • Kembali ke Bukittinggi.

  • Tiba di Bukittinggi, mengunjungi KAWASAN PASAR ATAS dan JAM GADANG untuk berbelanja oleh-oleh.

DAY 04: BUKITTINGGI – AIRPORT (B)

  • Sarapan dan check out hotel.

  • Lanjutkan ke PADANG melalui PADANG PANJANG.

  • Berhenti di Air Terjun LEMBAH ANAI untuk berfoto.
